Best Auto Repair in Concord, CA (2026)
The Best Auto Repair Shops in Concord, CA (2026)
Concord drivers have plenty of good options, so we ranked the best on verified Google reviews, certifications and local track record. A couple of shops carry more reviews than our top pick, and we’ll show you exactly who — but for a fully-certified, community-rooted shop that treats you one-on-one, Solano Way Auto Repair is our #1 in Concord.

The shops, ranked
Solano Way is our top pick for Concord — and we’ll be straight about why. It isn’t the highest-volume shop in town (two shops below carry more reviews, and we credit them). It wins on the things the big shops can’t match: a complete certification stack (ASE, a licensed California Smog Check station, A/C certified), a family-owned one-on-one service style, and deep community roots — Concord Rotary, the Chamber, Toys for Tots. Add a matching 4.9 rating and detailed digital inspections, and it’s the shop that treats you like a neighbor, not a ticket number.
Credit where it’s due: Five Star Automotive carries more Google reviews than any independent shop in Concord (653) at a matching 4.9 rating. If sheer volume and a long track record are what you weigh most, it’s the shop to beat — a genuinely strong, high-throughput local option on Monument Boulevard.
Contra Costa Auto Service is the other shop we won’t discount — 582 reviews at 4.9, and the strongest local-search presence in the area. A well-run, well-reviewed independent on Concord Avenue and a legitimate alternative to our #1.
Concord Auto Service is a solid full-service independent handling brakes, suspension, diagnostics, tires and fleet work, with a 4.9 across 312 reviews. A dependable mid-size option in the same class as our top pick on rating.
Auto Repair Garage is a women-led, family-operated shop on Market Street, serving Concord since 2014 with an honest, conservative approach and same-day service. Smaller on volume (122 reviews) but a well-liked 4.9 neighborhood option.
An honest note on the ranking
We won’t pretend Solano is Concord’s biggest shop — Five Star (653 reviews) and Contra Costa (582) both out-review it, at the same 4.9, and both are genuinely good, independently owned shops. Our #1 reflects an editorial judgment: at a matching rating, Solano pairs the most complete certification stack in town with a family-owned, one-on-one service style and real community involvement that the higher-volume shops don’t offer. Weigh it against the bigger shops and choose what fits you. (We leave private-equity chains like Stress-Free off entirely — we rank independently owned local shops.)
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best auto repair shop in Concord, CA?
Our top pick is Solano Way Auto Repair — a family-owned shop with a 4.9 rating, the most complete certification stack in town (ASE, a licensed California Smog Check station, A/C certified), transparent digital inspections and deep community roots. Two shops carry more reviews: Five Star Automotive (653) and Contra Costa Auto Service (582), both excellent, and we credit them plainly.
Isn't a shop with more reviews the better choice?
Not automatically. Review volume mostly tracks how long and how busy a shop has been. We weigh it alongside certifications, transparency and service style. Solano matches the field’s top 4.9 rating and beats it on credential depth and one-on-one care, which is why it’s our pick even though two shops out-review it.
Why isn't Stress-Free Auto Care on this list?
We focus on independently owned local shops. Stress-Free is a private-equity-backed chain, so its review totals reflect a national brand rather than a single Concord shop — not an apples-to-apples local comparison, so we leave it off.
What certifications does Solano Way hold?
ASE Certified technicians, a licensed California Smog Check (CARB-compliant) station, and A/C service certification — a complete credential set for gas and hybrid vehicles, plus fleet service.
