About Gallows Rd Automotive
Gallows Rd Automotive is an independent auto repair shop on Holly Road in Annandale, and by the numbers it is the highest-rated shop in town: a perfect 5.0 across 148 Google reviews. Under new ownership by Phil Rosen, who also runs Tenleytown Automotive in Washington DC (4.9 across 665 reviews), the shop has quickly built a reputation for honest, straightforward service, and reviewers regularly single out the new ownership by name.
The shop is a Virginia-certified station for both the annual state safety inspection and the Fairfax County emissions test, so the inspection every Virginia driver needs and any repairs required to pass it happen in one visit. Day to day, the team handles the full range of maintenance and repair: oil changes and scheduled maintenance, brakes, wheel alignments, tires, batteries, axle and suspension work, check-engine diagnostics, and general engine repair, with BG maintenance services available. Reviewers repeatedly describe clear time-and-cost estimates up front and no-upsell diagnostics, including techs deciding against work once they found it was not actually needed.
Repairs are backed by a 24-month / 24,000-mile parts-and-labor warranty, longer than most area shops put in writing, and a free shuttle covers the ride home while your car is in the bay. The shop is open seven days a week, including weekend hours that almost no independent in the area offers, which makes it easy to drop a car without burning a workday.
Why we rank it #1 in Annandale
Among shops physically in Annandale, Gallows Rd Automotive has the best rating by a clear margin, a perfect 5.0 across 148 reviews, which is a large and consistent sample rather than a lucky handful. Add a written 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty, on-site Virginia state inspection and emissions, and seven-day hours, and it is the most accountable in-town option on every public measure we check. The one shop with more reviews, Craftsman Auto Care, sits in neighboring Merrifield and is ranked next.
