The shops, ranked
The closest heavyweight to the West Acres district, and it would earn the spot on numbers alone: a 4.8 across 952 Google reviews at this location, ASE-certified technicians, and the “Triple-Seven” 7-year/77,000-mile warranty — the longest of any shop in the metro. Fix It Forward runs five local shops, and patronage helps fund its affiliated ministry’s free repairs for neighbors in need.
A perfect 5.0 across 394 Google reviews is nearly unheard of at that volume, and it made Skalicky’s the Red River Valley’s Best-of Gold winner in 2024. A north-Fargo independent with a word-of-mouth following that the numbers back up completely.
Straight south of the mall down 38th Street, Elite is southwest Fargo’s shop — our #1 for the neighborhoods west of I-29. NAPA AutoCare certified with ASE technicians, a 36-month/36,000-mile nationwide warranty, and the same two owners since 2013. The waiting room (kids’ corner, coffee bar) and shuttle make it an easy errand-day drop-off from the West Acres area.
A well-regarded West Fargo independent with a loyal local base — 4.6 across 141 Google reviews — and a reputation for trustworthy, straightforward repair. A solid in-town option for West Fargo drivers.
A smaller neighborhood operation on the south side running as an ACDelco professional service center, with a steady 4.6 across 125 Google reviews. Convenient for quick, straightforward work.
How the field compares
The West Acres district sits at the seam of three strong repair corridors, and the distances are honest ones: Fix It Forward’s 13th Avenue shop is the closest top-tier independent to the mall and carries the metro’s longest warranty, so it takes #1. Skalicky’s perfect 5.0 earns #2 from the north side. Elite Automotive Center — our #1 for southwest Fargo — is the natural pick for mall-area drivers heading home south or west of I-29.
