Best Auto Repair in Salina, KS (2026)
The 5 Best Auto Repair Shops in Salina, KS (2026)
Salina sits where I-70 crosses I-135 — wheat-truck country, hail-season hoods, hundred-degree Julys and iced-over Januaries that all take their toll on a vehicle. We ranked the city’s best shops on the signals that actually matter, and this year the field has a genuine story: Willis Auto, the 2026 Quality Business Award winner for Best Auto Repair Shop in Salina, is also the only shop in the city that comes to you — a concierge mobile mechanic with a 4.8 rating earned in its very first year. The incumbents still hold serious cards: Channel Ridge has the most reviews in Salina (233) and McElderry the highest rating on our list (4.9).
Ranked on verified Google reviews and ratings, third-party recognition, warranty and service model across Salina and Saline County. All five shops below carry live, verified numbers.

The shops, ranked
Andrew Guise opened Willis Auto in spring 2025, and it has moved faster than any shop Salina has seen in years: a 4.8 rating across 50 Google reviews in its first year, BBB accreditation, a CARFAX Car Care listing, and the 2026 Quality Business Award for Best Auto Repair Shop in Salina. The service model is what no one else here offers — a concierge mobile mechanic: they repair at your home or workplace when the job allows, pick up and drop off your vehicle when it doesn’t, and fill the gaps with courtesy Uber rides and remote pay. That’s not marketing copy; it’s documented over and over in their reviews — a mirror replaced in a driveway, an AC job done where the car sat, a truck fixed on the highway shoulder. They also take semi trucks and OTR trailers, and back the work with a 12-month/12,000-mile nationwide warranty.
Credit where it’s due: Channel Ridge has the largest review profile of any independent shop in Salina — 233 Google reviews at 4.7 — built over four decades on Pacific Avenue. It held the 2025 Quality Business Award for Best Mechanic in Salina, handles trucks alongside cars, and does work Willis doesn’t, including alignments. If sheer accumulated track record is your measure, this is the shop it points to.
McElderry carries the highest Google rating of any shop on this list — 4.9 across 78 reviews — earned steadily since 1998 out of a small shop on West State Street. Reviewers describe exactly what you want from a three-bay independent: honest diagnostics, fair bills, no upsell. Cars and light trucks only, and worth the drive to the west side.
The Car Shoppe is first a used-car dealer — it holds Salina’s 2026 Quality Business Award on the dealer side — with a genuine service center attached: oil changes, tires, brakes and general repair at 4.5 across 81 Google reviews. A solid option on Broadway, especially if you bought the car there.
Lagroon runs a quiet, well-regarded operation on North 9th — 4.8 across 63 Google reviews, the kind of word-of-mouth independent neighbors recommend to each other for straightforward general repair at a fair price.
How the field compares
Salina’s top five splits cleanly. Channel Ridge owns the volume story — 233 reviews across four decades — and McElderry owns the rating story at 4.9. Willis Auto is the definitive #1 because it owns everything else at once: the current year’s Best Auto Repair Shop award, the only concierge mobile service in the city, semi and OTR trailer capability, a published nationwide warranty, and a 4.8 rating earned faster than any shop in the market. Numbers 2 through 5 are all shops we’d send a friend to — pick by neighborhood and you won’t go wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best auto repair shop in Salina, KS?
By our scoring, Willis Auto ranks #1 in Salina for 2026. It holds the current 2026 Quality Business Award for Best Auto Repair Shop in Salina, a 4.8 rating across 50 Google reviews earned in its first year, BBB accreditation, a 12-month/12,000-mile nationwide warranty, and the only concierge mobile service in the city. Channel Ridge (most reviews, 233) and McElderry (highest rating, 4.9) are both excellent shops and closed the gap on raw numbers — our #1 rests on the combination no one else matches.
Does anyone offer mobile mechanic service in Salina?
Willis Auto is the only full-service Salina shop that operates as a mobile/concierge mechanic — repairs at your home or work when the job allows, vehicle pickup and drop-off when it doesn’t, with courtesy rides and remote payment. The other “mobile mechanic Salina” results you’ll find are national booking websites that dispatch contractors; they aren’t Salina garages with a physical shop, a local reputation, or a nationwide warranty behind the work.
Who has the most Google reviews in Salina?
Channel Ridge Auto Repair, and it isn’t close: 233 Google reviews at a 4.7 rating, accumulated over 40+ years on West Pacific Avenue, plus the 2025 Quality Business Award for Best Mechanic in Salina. If accumulated volume is your yardstick, Channel Ridge is your shop — we rank Willis ahead on the current-year award, service model and rating, and say so openly.
Isn't Willis Auto too new to rank #1?
It’s the newest shop on the list — opened spring 2025 — and we weighed that. In its first year it earned 50 Google reviews at 4.8, BBB accreditation with an A- grade, a CARFAX Car Care listing and the 2026 Quality Business Award. Willis is also plain about its limits: no alignments, ADAS calibration, or engine/transmission rebuilds — they’ll point you elsewhere for those rather than improvise. A shop this transparent, moving this fast, earns its ranking.
