About Alan Cox Premier Auto Care

Alan Cox Premier Auto Care has occupied the same address on Cobb Parkway North since 1983 — 43 years on the stretch of US-41 that carries Marietta traffic north toward Kennesaw and south toward the Square. It opened as a general repair shop and it still is one, but what it became along the way is a place where people bring cars they intend to keep. The reviews make the point better than a description can: customers writing about twenty years of service, thirty years of service, families on their fifth Honda, a Gen 2 Accord owned since new and still running because someone here was willing to work on it. Two things explain that. The first is that the shop specializes in Asian imports — Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Infiniti, Hyundai, Kia — alongside full domestic service, so the cars people hold onto longest are the cars this shop knows best. The second is who works here.

The staff roster reads like a tenure chart. Marshall Winkeljohn started in 1990 and is now President. Jonathan Hall came on in 1991 and built the tire department. Nick Kocsis — the name that appears in review after review after review — has run the service counter since 1999. Jeremy Bucy arrived in 2003 and is now Vice President. Shop foreman Justin Young joined in 2005 and holds two years of Honda/Acura factory training on top of ASE certification. Technician Davin Esa has specialized in Honda and Acura service here since 2006. In 2015 Winkeljohn and Bucy — by then twenty-five and twelve years into their time at the shop — bought the business from founder Alan Cox. That is a succession, not a sale to strangers, and it is the reason a customer who started coming here in the nineties still recognizes the person handing back the keys.

The credential a driver can verify independently is the AAA Approved Auto Repair listing, which appears on AAA’s own locator as facility 67709. The AAA program requires an inspection of the shop, its equipment and its technicians, mandates ASE certification, and entitles AAA members to 10% off labor up to $75. Repairs carry a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty. The everyday-service menu is the full general-repair list — diagnostics and check-engine work, brakes, oil and fluid services, Hunter Hawkeye wheel alignments, tires, steering and suspension, A/C and heating, electrical, and factory scheduled maintenance — plus two things almost nobody else advertises: sunroof repair, and hybrid service. The shop is straightforward about its limits too: no EV service and no ADAS calibration. It is open 7:30 to 5:00 on Saturdays, which matters more than it sounds when most of the independents ranked alongside it close Friday evening.

Most of the work in these bays is the everyday kind: oil changes, brakes, check engine lights, alignments and factory scheduled maintenance on the Hondas, Toyotas, Acuras, Lexus models, Fords and hybrids that Marietta drives to work. Shop foreman Justin Young brings two years of Honda and Acura factory training, and technician Davin Esa, with the shop since 2006, specializes in the same brands. For anyone bringing in a Camry for brakes, the point is simple: the shop’s everyday customers, many of them twenty- and thirty-year regulars, are the reason it is still here.

Marietta is a genuinely competitive market and the numbers deserve to be stated plainly. Accurate Care Automotive on Canton Road holds 4.8 across 658 Google reviews — more than this shop — though it sits roughly five miles northeast in East Cobb and closes on weekends. Dalton Automotive carries a perfect 5.0 across 286 reviews, and Blue Ridge Automotive a 4.9 across 316. What none of them matches is the combination that earns Alan Cox our #1 for Marietta: 43 years at one address, an independently audited AAA credential, the largest review record of any independent within three miles of the Square, Saturday hours, and a staff whose shortest tenure among its managers is two decades.

Why Alan Cox Premier Auto Care is our #1 in Marietta

Every reason here is checkable. It has served Marietta from one Cobb Parkway address since 1983 — 43 years, confirmed by its Google Business Profile, its BBB file and its own signage. It is an AAA Approved Auto Repair facility, listed on AAA’s own locator as facility 67709, which requires shop inspection and ASE-certified technicians and gives AAA members 10% off labor. Its 4.8 across 578 Google reviews is the largest review record of any independent shop within three miles of Marietta Square, corroborated by 4.9 across 132 CARFAX reviews. Repairs carry a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty, and it is open Saturdays when most independents here are not. Two shops beat it on a single number — Dalton Automotive at 5.0 on 286 reviews, and Accurate Care Automotive at 658 reviews from five miles northeast in East Cobb — and we show both openly. Neither matches the combination.

“Words cannot describe how thrilled I am to have found this repair shop. I brought it to Alan Cox to have an older Gen 2 Honda Accord that we have owned for over 30 years repaired after wasting my time and money at another local shop in the area. I am relieved to know that I can trust this shop to fix the issues with this Honda that others cannot. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my other vehicles here either. Thank you Nick, Marshall and Jeremy.”

“Jeremy, Nick, Jonathan and the entire team at Alan Cox Automotive always provide my family with top-notch service. We have been their customers for over 30 years and have consistently gotten "5 star" service. They are truly concerned about keeping our vehicles operating safely and are honest with us about critical versus non-critical repairs. We recommend them highly!”

“I've been bringing my Honda's to Alan Cox automotive for over 20 years. They are reliable, reasonably priced and provide quality service. I do a lot of my own repairs but if it's something I don't want to tackle I bring it to Alan Cox. Nick and crew are very knowledgeable and always willing to provide good advice on your repair. Good honest folks that don't try to up-sell you on repairs.”

“I have been taking my car to Alan Cox since I moved to Atlanta about 6 years ago. They are trustworthy and reasonably priced. I can't imagine having my car serviced anywhere else. Update: 14+ years now. Still two thumbs up. My 2005 Honda is still running and performing well. I also trust them with cars of other makes and models.”
